Is it exercise, or simply staying well?

What's your immediate reaction if someone mentions the word 'exercise'? Do you shrug and say 'exercise isn't for me, I don't enjoy it', or are you more of a 'I'd love to exercise but I haven't got time' sort of person? Or maybe you're thinking 'I don't need to exercise, I'm ok'.

What if we swapped in 'staying well' for the word 'exercise' - how does it sound then? 'Staying well isn't for me, I don't enjoy it'. 'I'd love to stay well but I haven't got time', 'I don't need to stay well I'm ok'.

Sounds different doesn't it? Would you really actively avoid keeping yourself well and healthy? That's all it is - a way of working on and maintaining your health and wellbeing. If the word exercise puts you off then let's change it - reframe how you think about looking after yourself.
